I added a car onto my flight reservation. The car was NOT a special discounted rate.
5 hours later I discovered I didn't need a rental and could catch a ride with a friend. I tried to cancel, and the rep would not even try to help me. They said rental prices were locked in just for me and cancellation was not allowed. I did not see anything when I booked that the reservation could not be canceled.
They must use very fine print. They offered no options to take a credit to book a hotel or something like that -- nothing.
I've never heard of anywhere that you couldn't cancel within 24 hours if there was a reason and now I'm out $300.
I will never use Priceline again -- horrendous customer service
