No rental car!! Paid for, no car | Priceline review

Do not book with this company!! My husband booked a trip with a rental car included. Priceline stated that he needed $100 on a credit card as a deposit as the car was paid in full. Guess what...he got to his destination and no rental car!! I called Priceline and after 10 minutes of computerized menus, got a representative with an attitude that was no help. She said she would refund the rental car and not charge me a cancellation fee!!! I didn't cancel anything!! Even when I quoted the itinerary, she argued. Booking with this company is Russian roulette. Maybe you will have a hotel...maybe not. I won't take the chance and will pay more to be secure in my future trips.

Sorry to hear about your issue renting a car. I have rented cars with Priceline 3 times in the last 2 months and haven't had any problems.

I do just want to mention that you don't actually pay for your car right away on Priceline.

Nothing is charged until the rental car is returned. They also don't say anything about a deposit other than read the companies fine print.

Gimme-A-Break | Priceline review from San Diego, California

Looks like some *** attacked me. Sorry Gimme you could not follow my post. Give me your phone number and I will have my 13 year old explain it to you. See if you can follow this Gimme....I will type slow just for you. As a business owner, I have used Priceline with some good deals and not so good deals. My first complaint was in regards to a 99.00 dollar charge for a duplicate room. Unlike you Gimme, I didnt run to the bank and cry for a refund. I wrote a letter to the CEO pointing out their mistake and trying to prevent this from happening to others. Not that I owe a coward with a 5TH GRADE EDUCATION an explanation. By the way, how is that job at Priceline....can you live ok on that eight bucks an hour? You need a good *** slapping.

Sorry Carol, the grammar as posted is from a defect in my computer.

It makes perfect sense, too bad it's beyond you.

You need to quit that inbreeding "thing" as it really makes you ***. I am glad the US Gov.

offers tax breaks to hire the mentally challanged....so Priceline picked you up. I am happy to subsidize your wages....better then welfare, huh?

Yes, you will find spelling errors and or weird symbols possibly popping up during my posts. You should really do your homework on Priceline before you open your twinkie filled mouth. Just say no to ***!!

Ripoff as usual at Priceline.

I have been ripped twice. The first time I was charged twice on the same night for 2 different hotels in San Diego located 1 mile apart. I overnighted a letter to the CEO exposing their scam. I could have had the credit card charges removed but decided to fight instead. Never heard back and its been a long time. This just happened to me. I bid on a hotel in San Diego and did not get it. 3 days later they email me with a proposed "bid" which I submitted and won (lost really.) Let me explain, in the old days Priceline would ask first how many adults and how many children so an appropriate bid could be placed. No longer, you just bid and win Like I did. However, I got one bed in my room for a family of four. The change in their website was subtle, I did not read the fine print in legal *** explaining the rooms were based on the fact of 2 adults, period. Now I must pay an upgrade charge to get 2 beds at a price higher then I could have gotten if I made the reservations myself. I just wrote them an email. I am in the process of getting addresses for the top mgt. of Priceline plus Lisa Gillingham and Chris Soder to publish on line. Once my list is complete, help me spread it all around the net. Mail your complaints to their homes. *** ride by and check out their mansions as they screw consumers. If you want to help me, please do. They have over 500 complaints and a lawsuit pending. Turn up the heat now. Contact me for more info.

Brandy, your a "kitty." Hope you are learning your job at Priceline. How long have you worked there, 3 years now?

Don't worry, your training program for 9th grade graduates is only a 4 year program. Bet you can't wait for your .25 cent raise next year.

Hey Carol, how's your job at Priceline going? It's a good job for anyone who does not have a high school diploma.

Your so articulate indeed. I bet your favorite movie character is the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz????

You sound like a *** I can't even figure out your train of thought. *Well gee, this company charged me twice, instead of solving the problem the easy way through the bank I'll go ahead and fight with the company but they didn't answer my letter that I mailed instead of emailing and i never got a refund... OH look I want another vacation I think I'll use the same company because they did such a good job last time!* You are what's wrong with America!

Additional Charges Surprise and NO REFUND POLICY | Priceline review from Milwaukee, Wisconsin

I called the hotel to confirm my reservations and ask them about additional wifi charges and shuttle services around the area. The hotel informed me of parking charges for the hotel that were more than the hotel stay itself. I attempted to cancel with the hotel and they referred me back to priceline. I Called priceline to cancel over 30 days before the trip and they refused refund. NO REFUNDS POSSIBLE AND NO WAY TO GET ADDITIONAL CHARGES TILL YOU PUT THE ORDER IN. When dealing with priceline you will need to be very careful and expect extra hidden charges the hotel will impose that are difficult to find out prior to ordering.

Hotel overbooked, moved 50 miles away | Priceline review from Opelika, Alabama

I booked 3 rooms on 01/04/13 on priceline.com at the Hilton Garden Hotel for my sons graduation from Vet school. On 05/05/13, 4 days prior to check in, the hotel calls me to tell me they are overbooked and they are moving me to a Hampton Inn that is 45 miles away. I called priceline and they say they booked the rooms through booking.com their affiliate and they cant do anything about it. Booking.com claims it is the hotels problem and they cant help me either. I know that the Hilton Garden booked rooms directly for almost twice the dollars I paid after my reservation was made and I'm sure that's why I got the boot. I will never use priceline.com , booking.com or Hilton again.

Bait and Switch Scam | Priceline review from Sioux Falls, South Dakota

I booked a room through Priceline, but the hotel on the website was switched to the same hotel chain in unsafe area of town. A crack addicted woman tried to "borrow" $10 dollars while I was waiting to be checked in. Needless to say I didn't stay there. Priceline declined to switch my reservation to the booking I thought I was paying for on the website and Priceline declined to refund my charge. The clerk at the crack hotel said this happens all the time and I could have gotten the room for $40 less than Priceline was charging me. Needless to say I'll be refuting my credit card charge on this transaction. First and last time I use Priceline.

Inflexible customer service, 24hrs price match a joke | Priceline review from Denver, Colorado

I haven't actually taken my vacation yet, and have found out that the prices are lower now than when I booked. I tried to call priceline to see if they would price match, but nope, only within 24 hrs. Which is crummy! So I'm paying $80 more for my 4 days in orlando ($20 more per day) when i could be spending that on baby! I've used priceline before and have not had major problems but will probably NEVER use them again! Not only that but I've also had problems booking my rental car with them. As I've mentioned before, I have a 16mo baby and need a 4dr rental. Their website, which said "standard car" and SHOWED (in the picture) a 4dr car is not the car that has been booked. What do I get? A coupe. And of course, I've tried to call priceline and hertz about changing it to a 4dr sedan (I even offered to pay more to priceline) but they denied the request and wanted to charge me a $29 cancellation fee to cancel if I wanted to do that, all I wanted was an upgrade in the level of car and was willing to pay the difference. Nope, no can do. I've actually spent total 3 hrs on the phone to try to get them to help me but I guess they are more concerned with ripping people off. I would defintely use other sites that price match no matter what like Hotwire or orbitz. I WILL NEVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN. AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU, UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO PAY MORE. THEY DO NOT HAVE YOUR BEST INTERESTS IN MIND WHEN IT COMES TO COMPETITIVE PRICING, ONLY PROFIT.

Hotel not in stated area | Priceline review

I have been a Priceline customer for several years and I know the rules for "name your own price", "non-refundable, not cancellable, non transferable"..also that the hotel is hidden until you "win" your bid. I've had both success and failure..not so much in the price, because you know ahead of time what you're willing to pay..but in location or hotel rating. But today, after I chose two locations and a fairly decent bid, and was mildly surprised that it came back sucessful, until I realized that the hotel in question is on the outskirts of the city in an industrial area and no where close to the area's I chose. A live chat, and two customer service calls later, they will not budge on changing the hotel, even though I was willing to pay more. I will never again use priceline for any sort of hotel or other travel booking. If they can afford to lose my business, they won't miss me..but will continue to "bait and switch" other unsuspecting travellers.

Priceline- terrible customer service. SCAM!

My hubby and I were going on a day trip to DC. So I booked a mystery hotel at the great price through priceline.com, happened to be Marriott in DC area, when I called the hotel they told me I would have to pay an additional $40 for parking (almost half of the stay!!!) and no breakfast was included in the booking price. So I called the priceline.com and tried to see if anything could be done about the issue. Calls are answered somewhere in Phillipins, by the way, first rep hang up on me, I called back and second rep was being a total smart*ss; he said to me: if you don't want to pay for the parking then don't drive a car! OR get dropped off, REALLY???!!!! And when I asked how is it that they charged $40 for parking, he said: well you go to the counter, hand them you card and they charge it. Well thank you for clearing that out for me! Anyway, the company, located in CT, is a SCAM outsourcing jobs overseas. If anything ever goes wrong don't expect to get any help or refund. Terrible customer service. I could have gotten a hotel for the same price with the breakfast and free parking for the same price. Not a great deal after all!!!!

When you book the a hotel the site tells you that you may be charged for parking or a "resort fee".... so it's their fault you didn't read the fine print?
