Flight Class Bait and Switch | Priceline review from Asheville, North Carolina

I searched economy for an upcoming trip in June. A flight with Business Class seats for the longest leg of my flight was offered for a few hundred more per ticket, so I booked that flight. About two weeks after booking, I get an email with a flight change, my flight had changed time by about 5 minutes, but suddenly, I was booked in Economy instead of Business Class. I have spoken with several customer service reps who all tell me the same thing. Since I searched Economy, it doesn't matter what I booked. One manager admitted that there was a flight mismatch on their side, but after hours on the phone, many representative, a handwritten letter to corporate, all I have been offered is to cancel my flight, or $100 credit which doesn't even cover the cost of the additional price I paid for that specific ticket.

Priceline - Hotel Review from Brooklet, Georgia

I use priceline all the time and have never had any problems and went to bid on a 3 star hotel and offer came up to bid higher. Well, that was no problem but one 3 star hotel was under the price of the bid that was given. So, we just went to that hotel while traveling and checked in and needless to say, I would have not gave this hotel one star. I could not believe that this showed up on priceline as a 3 star. The place was being renovated but was moldy, everything in all 3 rooms shown to us was filthy. The toilets, curtains, pool....we even started itching from just being in the hotel. This was def a place that should be taken off priceline. We asked for a refund and found a different hotel. When I called priceline to tell them that they should check the ratings bc of our experience the representaive brushed it off and hurried me off the ph. I was just giving priceline a heads up bc I would hate for anyone to experience that. The pics of hotel are not what we saw.

Told twice I would be refunded and 6 months later they say nevermind | Priceline review from Neosho, Missouri

My sisters and I went on vacation to Walt Disney World in October for our first ever sisters vacation. Instead of driving we decided to buy our flights through Priceline.com. What a mistake that was. Instead of having a completely worry free vacation it started out horrible. We showed up to the airport ready to board our flight only to find out it had been cancelled in August. We were told we would have to contact Priceline.com because that is who we booked our reservation through. 30 minutes and 4 transfers later we were only being told that US Airways had not relayed the information to Priceline.com so it was no longer their problem. Thankfully we were able to get on a flight from Springfield, MO to Chicago and then to Orlando. Instead of dealing with the problem during vacation I waited until we got back. In November I wrote to Priceline.com stating that I was not happy with the results of our flight being cancelled and us not being notified. Nearly two month later we are told that because U.S. Airways is at fault they will issue a refund. YAY! J/K another 6 weeks go by with no news. Unable to get ahold of anyone at US Airways I contact Priceline again. March 25th we are told that yes a refund is being issued as of February 10th and could take up to 2 months to arrive. SO we wait.... Nothing appears in the form of a refund. Once again I contact Priceline. At this point they say give us a few days to figure this out. American Airlines emails us 6 months after our initial contact with Priceline.com telling us that no refund will be issued. Priceline.com will take no responsibility for not only our non-existent flight, but for not handling the situation at all. Instead of having a great cheap experience with our flight booking/handling I have done all the leg work and all I hear Priceline.com saying is "We can't." That is the moto of the Executive Offices at Priceline.com. "We Can't" What I can do is make sure I don't ever book my flights, hotels, or rental cars through Priceline.com EVER again. .

Refused to change, refund or assist in modifying reservation made at unsafe hotel | Priceline review from Mooresville, North Carolina

Details
Made a reservation for a hotel & airfare through Priceline. Found out next AM from locals in Uruguay that the hotel was unsafe after dark. Called Priceline, spoke to Anna & Jake pleading to change reservation to different, safer hotel b/c I would be a woman traveling alone in a country where I do not speak the language. Offered to pay additional money, stay in a different city, etc. Would not do anything to help me! Told me I could send a letter to their executive office. This company SUCKS! I will never use them again under ANY circumstances. Totally walking away from hotel reservation b/c my safety will be in jeopardy. Not worth it. AVOID this company at ALL COSTS!

So you're a "woman traveling alone in a country where you don't speak the language" - but you're competent enough to travel alone to a country where you don't speak the language? This sounds like an online romance thing versus a vacation or business trip; hope you get out alive.

Priceline is very clear on their policy when you place your offer to purchase a reservation that it is non-refundable and cannot be changed; thus the savings. If you're not mature enough to be accountable for your own choices in your purchases, then you're surely not mature enough to travel to South America alone.

Horror hotel | Priceline review from High Point, North Carolina

Details
Priceline booked a hotel for me in Raleigh N Carolina at the Extended stay hotel. i got in at 10PM and had to leave at 6am the next morning. The hotel took over an hour to check me in because the corporate office had their computer in use and the desk girl had no clue as how to check me in manually. When I was finally checked in the room had no pillows, cups for a drink of water, no trash basket and no soap. The floor was toatallr dirty and the sheets smelled bad. The fornt desk said they would get all the items for me right away. After 3 more calls to the front desk and 1 trip there I still had no pillows, cups, soap,or a trash basket so I went to sleep, I had to get up in 6 hours. As soon as I had fallen asleep the desk person knocked on my door and informed me she was off and there would be no soap because their shipment of soap didn't come in that day, REALLY? When I called to complain to Priceline they offered a $17. dollar credit for a room that was horrible. I told them that the room wasn't worth $10 and certainly not what they charged me. I got the usual priceline customer service answer, sorry you feel that way. I used Priceline a lot but will not in the future, they have added hotels that are terrible in service and cleanliness and don't seem to care what their customers receive for the money they spend.

Prciceline app cost more then website | Priceline review from Los Angeles, California

Details
I booked a trip on priceline on the website and the hotel cost $63.5 while on the app it cost $62.00. I have a 5% discount for the app which I applied. Taxes and Fees for my webiste trip comes out to $12.90 and on the App comes out to $22.30. The trip cost me on the website $139.80 while on the app comes out to $140.10. Basiclly the app charges more for taxes and fees then the website because priceline runs the app. I used the apple app. Dont use the app the will always charge you more. I spent 20 min with cutomer service trying to figure out why that was, she said that priceline runs the app. FYI people, thats all.

Marriott Atlanta computer failure. No other rooms available! | Priceline review from Edmundston, New Brunswick

Booked a night at Marriott Springhill suites through Priceline. Arriving at the hotel, they had a major computer failure, with about a hundred angry guests in the lobby. Couldn't get a room, as they couldn't key room cards, and no idea if rooms were currently occupied , were cleaned, etc. Total chaos. Called PL to get them to get me another room somewhere, as although it was Marriotts, issue, I bought my room from Priceline, and it is their obligation to fix it. They couldn't get me another room, so they , after an hour or so of phone calls, etc, graciously said they would refund the room !..I said that's great, but I have a flight in 7 hours, and my 67 year old brother and I needed a bed , and they needed to provide it , as per the contract we made when I booked a room. Basically said, sorry, nothing we can do. Tough !.. After 3 days of angry emails, in which they said stuff such as " hotels sometimes overbook, we can't help that", proving that either they can't read or just didn't look at what I said, they offered a credit for $18.! At this point, I told them where to put their money, and said after 30 years of using their service, I would never again !..Masters at saying " It's not our problem"..I've lost reservations after travel plans changed, with never a complaint. Remember, they accept no responsibility for the room you buy FROM THEM!. Thieves! Compensation???...For sleeping in a car when you had a non refundable PAID room ? Priceless!!

Are you kidding? The hotel has problem and you expect priceline to fix it.

You have way too much a sense of entitlement. Travel agents duty is to act as your agent in renting a hotel room. If they make a mistake as to the date, place, etc. they are at fault.

They ARE NOT, however, guarantors that you will get a room if the supplier (hotel) cannot provide it. That's like saying if you buy a ticket from Ticketstubb to go to a football game and the game is cancelled, then Ticketstubb is responsible for finding another football game for you to attend. Get real. Life happens.

Your complaint is against the hotel, not priceline.

Terrible service, never again! | Priceline review from New York, New York

So for two months I have been working to cancel my reservation with Priceline for my car rental, because I found that the company itself would make the reservation for half the price. I have spoken with Priceline several times, emails and phone calls as well as National the car rental company. Now while National is more than willing to cancel the reservation, the funds are held by Priceline, who continuously uses stall tactics, stating "National has to let us know that we can cancel and you won't be given an answer until after you drop the car back off." National could research my account and even noted it, but Priceline just keeps stating the same thing, I will get an answer after I use the car and drop it back off, which clearly makes no sense, as they already build me and I used the car. Priceline is a terrible company and any time you call you will get a representative in India reading off a script, stick to Expedia.
