Priceline Hotel Booking Review from Fayetteville, North Carolina

WARNING!!! NEVER EVER EVER use Priceline NOR their partner Booking.com. First, I will tell you, I am well traveled and have never ever used a middleman in my entire life. I orginally attempted to book directly thru the hotel website directly, but for some reason the reservation did not go thru. I didnt receive a confirmation #. I was careful to not to resubmit, nor try a second time to avoid possibility of being charged twice by the hotel. I checked with my bank, I was not charged. I emailed hotel...I was not charged, as they said no reservation for me existed in their system. So, I thought let me book it thru Priceline. I booked room thru Priceline and rec'd confirmation #. I'm a person that pays attention to detail, and always certain I enter things correctly. I look over things, not one time, but FIVE. When your background is working for Real Estate Attorneys, u are well trained like that, something that sticks with you FOREVER. I have also had same exact form of pmt for many years. Again, I still check it 5 x's anyway b4 I press submit. Two days later, I get an email from Priceline "your credit card details, you must email us card details, which would be forwarded to hotel." Im nervous at this point about resubmitting card details. I first checked with my bank FIRST, there was no block, as I had previously informed them of my travel plans in advance. I call Priceline, who directs me to Booking.com. Well, oooh...k, there is not one middleman but TWO....hmmm. Booking.com put me on hold and contacted hotel in Dubai. Booking.com agent said she cant see nor access my pmt details at all. She came back to phone and said "agent at hotel in Dubai successfully processed your pmt in full while she was on phone. I'm feeling relieved. I'm constantly checking my bank account, I was not charged and no transaction pending AT ALL. Well two days later, I get an email "your reservation has been CANCELLED." I contact the hotel in Dubai directly. They told me "you cxl'd your room reservation, we didn't cxl it." I told her I want to make a reservation directly with her at that moment, I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH PRICELINE NOR BOOKING.COM EVER EVER AGAIN. Hotel in Dubai made my reservation, accepted same exact card number, read it back to me and then sent me an email confirmation immediately. Although she said the room rate would be a little higher based on supply and demand, I didn't care.....I have peace of mind. I don't know how much that call cost to call from U.S to Dubai on my cell phone, as I was in a panic.....I have peace of mind. I ran out of time, therefore had no lunch....but I have peace of mind! A lesson learned. My thing is the middleman ALWAYS gets paid in some form or fashion. I just don't understand what is Priceline and Booking.com for?!?!?! They get paid as the middleman.....not one but TWO. But all I recall hearing is "I can't see this, and I can't do that." Well, what CAN you do?!?!? Just get paid for nothing is the obvious answer lol. I will definitely continue stalking my bank account to see if Priceline or Booking.com charges me at a later date anyway. But I do have ALL of their emails as a paper trail. People please please please book DIRECT through the hotel ALWAYS. I have never had this issue EVER!

Priceline Mis-Advertises Hotel Ratings

1.0
Details
I WILL NEVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN Beware, Priceline considers glorified motels to be 2-1/2 Star Hotels. When you click on the star rating and Priceline lists examples of hotels for that rating like Holiday Inn, Marriott, Hampton Inn you expect that quality when you are given a hotel reservation. When I made a reservation I was assigned a "Glorified Motel" that I had already stayed at before, and would never stay at again if I had a choice in the matter. Over course Priceline's robot-sounding customer service reps (and their senior representatives) all sound the same. "Sorry" at 10 times per minute, and take it up with the hotel if you are dissatisfied.

No cancellation policy even when the top choice is in another city | Priceline review from Hilo, Hawaii

In my opinion this company is a total ripoff and that's because they have no cancellation policy, in other words, if you make a mistake in your booking like I did, there is no refund. Here's the mistake I made. I searched for a hotel in Moab, UT, but the first hotel to come up was in a different city. It was a great price for Moab at this time of year, so I snatched it up before it disappeared before it disappeared. Well, when I discovered my mistake I expected a refund and I could have booked a different hotel. Nope, They won't do it no matter how misleading their search process is. I checked hotels.com and Expedia, both of them give you your chosen city first, but not Priceline. I called cust support and went up the food chain to get satisfaction, but no, you have to submit an email or letter. Now what do you think the reply would be? Sorry it's our policy to rip you off (my words). For you lawyers out there, in my opinion this is fraud when you are given something else and not what you wanted. I will never do business with this ripoff company again, and that will cost them in the long run. Please check to make sure they haven't given you the city you wanted first. Otherwise you too will get screwed.

Priceline Cancellation Policy Review

Made a reservation thru PL ..Realized that the city was wrong ..Called PL within 5 minutes to cancel. PL cancelled reservation but I was told I would still be charged...To receive that answer for a 5 min. Reservation is very poor Customer Service...At least I know I will not be dealing with Priceline anymore..

Priceline Insensitive to the Safety of 2 Attractive 21-year Old Females

You have been connected to Isabelle. Isabelle: Hi, Susan! Thanks for choosing to chat with us today. How may I help you? Isabelle: Susan, I see your Chat box is still open, but I haven't heard from you in awhile. Are you still available to chat? Susan Matranga: I'd prefer to pay more money and get a hotel in Carmel (instead of Pacific Grove) for the same dats. Isabelle: If I may ask, did you mean to book the reservation in the Pacific Grove area? Susan Matranga: No I made a mistake Isabelle: Oh, I'm sorry, I meant did you mean to book the reservation in Carmel area? Susan Matranga: yes Isabelle: I'm sorry to hear about that. No problem, I'll be more than willing to check what options we have for your reservation. Isabelle: Please give me one moment as I pull up and review your itinerary. Isabelle: Thank you for patiently waiting, I could see here a hotel reservation at the Sea Breeze Lodge. Is that correct? Susan Matranga: yes Isabelle: Thank you for confirming. Isabelle: Susan, I checked your reservation and I can see here that you selected the Carmel, Monterey and Pacific Grove area. You received a hotel within one of the areas that you selected when you submitted your request, the reason why you received a hotel in Pacific Grove area. I'm so sorry, however, your reservation cannot be changed, canceled or refunded once it is accepted. Isabelle: Susan, I see your Chat box is still open, but I haven't heard from you in awhile. Are you still available to chat? Susan Matranga: I meant to uncheck all but Carmel.I'm snding my 21-year old daughter and her girlfriend to Carmel for the weekend. They are both very attractive. The hotel's security - locks, etc. are substandard (from the reviews). I'm worried about their safety. Isabelle: I'm so sorry, I understand you’re not satisfied with our policies, Susan; however, prior to purchase, you were asked to review your reservation, including the terms associated with cancellations or changes. When you purchased your reservation, you agreed to those terms. I understand your concern with regards to the hotel's security, however, we are confident that the hotel will work to exceed your expectations. Susan Matranga: Please. I'll pay more money, Just please send them to Carmel Isabelle: I understand that you are anxious to have this resolved and I truly wish I was able to sort this out for you. However, as much as I would like to have this changed or canceled for you, we really do not have the option to do so because of the restrictions of your reservation. Prior to purchase, it was already disclosed that "Rooms purchased through priceline cannot be cancelled, changed or transferred and refunds are not allowed." Susan Matranga: Don' Susan Matranga: Don't people make mistakes? I still want to make a purchase - even pay more money. Now that the safety and security issue are being discussed - if something happened why would Priceline want to be liable? Isabelle: I understand that you made a mistake in selecting the other areas, Susan. We don't like to see our customers upset and inconvenienced as we always strive to create a positive customer experience. However, the contractual agreements that were presented to you during the booking process prevents us from changing or cancelling your reservation. Isabelle: I can see that the hotel has a Guest rateingof 7.9 out 10 which is rated by customers like you who previously stayed at this hotel. We are confident that the hotel will work to exceed your expectations. Isabelle: Susan, I see your Chat box is still open, but I haven't heard from you in awhile. Are you still available to chat? Susan Matranga: We're talking about two very attractive 21-year old females. That should count for something. Can my request be bumped up the chain of command? When I first realized what I'd done I looked up reviews, thinking of just accepting it. Then when I read about the security issues I realized this was unacceptable for these two girls. Can I be referred to upper management? Isabelle: I'm sorry, I understand you're not satisfied with the answer I provided, Susan; however, there is not another department or person that I can transfer your chat to that would address your issue differently. All chat and phone agents have the same authority to address customer issues. Susan Matranga: Who can I be referred to during regular business hours? Chat agents have bosses and I'm sure Priceline has executive officers. Isabelle: We really apologize if we were not able to provide the answer you were looking for. You can certainly call our phone customer service at 877-477-5807 and ask to speak to our Customer Relations which is the highest department you can speak to, however they will not have any further options or a different policy to offer you. I will document your record so they are aware of our conversation if you call.

Poor customer service, business lacks integrity | Priceline review from Littleton, Colorado

2.5
Details
The worst customer service that I have encountered in decades. There was an error in my booking which resulted in a $25.00 overcharge. I called immediately so that I could resolve the problem, but was told that they could not help me. I would have been happy to do business in the future with Price Line, but they are unwilling to work in good faith and honesty. Because of their lack of integrity and what I feel are dishonest business policies I will never use Price Line again and would advise anyone who reads this to avoid them too

If the error in booking was your error, then it's your problem, own it. Take the extra time, review your order, then finalize your order. If you don't, it's not the fault of priceline, is it.

PRICELINE - A RIP OFF

we booked a hotel with Priceline a month ago in Lake George. Looking at their pictures, the room are big and like a suite. We have 2 adults and 2 teenage, and we seldom go on vacation, we decided to go with this hotel which is more expensive than the other ones. We paid almost $300 per night for 2 nights. When we got there, we only got a small double bedroom, we complained to the front desk, they told us since we ordered from Priceline, we have to talk to Priceline. So I called Priceline while I should be out vacationing with my family. I talked to Priceline, now they are telling me they cannot guarantee we can get the same room like the pictures on line, and I was furious, they even hung up on me twice. I could rent the same room for $150 in another hotel, and I ended up paying twice as much. I asked for refund or credit, they just ignored me. This is a rip off, the hotel is fine, but not the same class that we are expecting. I learned my lesson this time, and I will never order hotels from Priceline again. They do not even want to work with you for your complaints, they are so unprofessional, not customer oriented.

Pipeline is like having a pickpocket. They r thieves, rude, condescending and scam artists I recommend no one planning to use them run away fast.

There r other more reliable people out there. They screwed me out of 287.00 and refuse to budge. My card was rejected and I called them back in less than 5 min.

They had already taken money out of my acct causing an overdraft and had already booked our room so they got double money. So everyone look out.

Same thing just happened to me. If they have the capacity to redirect you to a US site when you put in Priceline.ca, they probably also have the ability to quote you in CAN$ when you are searching from a CAN IP address or at least force you to choose your currency, instead of having to read through everything to discover what I did.
