Lost $4 by booking on priceline rather than from hotel

I bid and 'won' the bid on a hotel in Orlando. Priceline congratulated me that I saved 25%! I decided to double check and logged into that hotel site and faked booking with AAA discount. The result was $4 dollars less than the claimed savings i had on Priceline! Priceline lies that it can save on bookings! When I called to discuss the issue, they wasted another 30 minutes of my time, refused to even match the lower price let alone give me 25% discount! I talked to 3 people who were 'verifying' somthing for me and came up with excuses to refuse to even match the lower price.

So it is Priceline's fault that you bid too much??

Booked me for wrong airport! | Priceline review from Casper, Wyoming

I was using the name your own price option. I was trying to get a good deal out of our local airport (CPR) to (GEG) and for some reason their system defaulted to (den). I double checked that all the info was correct, ensuring that no other airport was highlighted when i submitted my bid. My bid was accepted but for the wrong airport! I immediatley contacted Priceline to try and fix the problem. After speaking to 6 different people nothin was resolved! One of the Customer agents had told me we could get a refund of 120 of the 150 cancelation fee if I rebooked and I would have a year to rebook. So when I called "sameday" to cancel and rebook. they informed me that it had to be same day, and a different airport. Really whats the point! I worked as a travel agent and for an airline... so I am pretty sure I know how to make sure the ticket was properly booked! Oh because I initialed the terms and condition they are claiming that I initialed the flight info... well I selected the flight info I was seeking... their system defaulted back to a previous attempt. No one at Priceline gives a *** about their customers! I suggest posting your frustrations on their facebook page. :)

I've used priceline and when I did a multi-destination trip across the country I accidentally did it in reverse and now Buffalo is my default home location when I buy flights. It's amusing to see but it always starts as BUF and I've never had an issue after changing it.

Be Aware of the Hidden Flight Selection by Priceline

December1, 2011 Vacation Package From Priceline I booked a vacation package trying to save 40-$50, end-up losing two days of my vacation, because of the hidden flight selection by Priceline. I get there at night and leave 6AM, that means two days is lost because of the flight selection by Priceline. You cannot change anything once you pay for it. I Recommend that do not purchase any vacation that does not give you the flight detail. I would not use the priceline services again. Remmember if you do not see your flight schedule DO NOT Purchse Vacations from Priceline

Priceline and Expedia both list layovers on all their flights. I fly both regularly and choose the lowest layovers if I'm not flying non stop unless its in a city I'd like to visit for a bit.

Priceline

I booked a hotel for 4 and the hotel would only allow 3 people. I called Priceline and all they said is read the fine print may not occupy more than 2. They would not let me speak to a manager and stated that I had to mail them a letter. The customer service was horrible and no one would help me. I will not use priceline again. I cannot beleive that they would treat their customers as they did. i did not feel they cared that I was an unsatisfied customer. I will not do business with them again.

BOYCOTT PRICELINE - THEY ARE HORRIBLE

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE FOLKS. i am an avid seeker of deals. I just lost total respect for William Shatner. If you put your name on a brand, you Shatner, you should have put it on an honest travel agency. I have to say this is my first BAD travel situation ever. Love all the others. This company charged me upfront for a RENTAL CAR with no cancellation policy ON A CARD I DID NOT WANT THEM TO CHARGE. Customer service is horrible and THEY SHOULD NOT EVEN HAVE AN OPTION SUCH AS THAT. I wanted to pay with my AMerican Express card and of course honor the sale.. they said NO! Too, late they charged my visa.

I agree... i just posted a note on this site, too.

I also tweeted about it.

I will boycott with you. They are a scam.

If an error was made, "common sense" who is blatantly a priceline decoy, customer service should correct the credit card error no matter whose oversight it is. Mistakes happen and the adverts are useless and wasted with experiences such as this.

Who do I believe? The client

I've used Priceline many times with no issues. They constantly have the best hotel deals versus expedia, travelocity, and orbitz.

You gave them a card, they charged the card, what is the problem? Don't want them to charge it? DON'T GIVE IT TO THEM

OMG OMG OMG

Priceline stinks like a skunk

I reserved a hotel for 2 nights in Homestead Florida 6 months ago for the final NASCAR race last weekend. When I got there to check into the hotel a policeman was outside stopping people. He told us the hotel went out of business last month. I called Priceline they would do nothing except say that hotels were available in Miami(40 miles away) for 6 times the amount we reserved the original hotel. The hotel charged my credit card for one night, Priceline would not even reimburse me for that. They just left me hanging there with no place to spend the weekend. Priceline really ruined what should have been a great weekend for this NASCAR fan. I say to all NASCAR fans do not use Priceline or you may find yourself spending the weekend sleeping in your car.

This is the problem with booking a ticket with Priceline, Orbitz, Expedia, etc.----you pay these companies and then when you have a problem, you have already paid and are basically stuck. Their customer service is atrocious and only works to your disadvantage.

You are always best to book hotels, airlines, etc. direct with the provider---not an intermediary like Priceline.

Priceline - Awful Customer Service

I mistakenly purchased airline tickets through priceline's name your price service. I called within 12 hours of the tickets being purchased to inform them that it was unintentional. I did not mean to purchase the tickets. Needless to say, the customer service rep said it was nonrefundable. I asked to speak with someone else higher up. They said the same thing. The customer reps are very rude, unprofessional, and insensitive. So I requested to speak to someone else higher up, and they told me to write a letter. I requested an e-mail address. They directed me on the website to one. I filled out the form, and it comes back to me undeliverable! I will never, never go through Priceline again. They have poor customer service, and they don't even try to help the customer out.

You know it's not price line problem. Everytme I made a mistake I took it up with the I booked at and they changed dates very quickly

Doesn't sound like it was a mistake to me little girl. Sounds like you were playing around to see how low they would go and you went to far.

Or you did what I did one time and entered the incorrect return date. Do you know what I did? Bit the bullet.

Never even crossed my mind to call the company because I knew what "non-refundable" means. Read the small print next time instead of relying on the website to send a "are you sure you want to make this purchase" pop-up

Listen - It was a mistake...I thought it would give me a final confirmation prior to it being charged. I didn't realize it was just going to charge the amount. Priceline could work with people on a solution, but they don't care to.

Priceline

I booked a ticket from priceline for an international trip with multi-destinations. In the last minute, priceline called me and asked me to either change my schedule for two days or cancel my ticket since the carries will not operate at one day. I talked with Billy, a supervisor at priceline and he was very rude to me and cut off the phone. I told him that I have difficulties to change my schedule and he did not do anything to help me. I had booked many flights, hotels and cars from priceline and do not understand why priceline is so rude to customers. It looks like that priceline does not care about its customers.

Have been screwed by pricelene | Priceline review from Antwerp, Antwerpen

PRICELINE IS NOT WORTH A SINGE PENNY! HAVE BEEN MISLEAD ABOUT "THE CHEAPEST PRICE FOR YOUR CRITERIA IS $408 + TAX)".AFTER HAVING MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WITH $250-$300-$0350. AFTER ACCEPTING THE HOTEL, I FOUND OUT IT'S THE SHERATON. HAVE FOUND SEVERAL OTHER HOTELS IN SAME AREA WITH SAME STAR LEVEL, FOR MUCH CHEAPER! (BETWEEN $235-$300). HAVE CALLED THEM, NO ONE TO TALK TO. IF PROBLEM, THEY JUST HANG UP THE PHONE ON YOU. AT CHECK IN I FOUND OUT THAT FOR THAT PRICE I GET ONLY A NONE RENOVATED ROOM AND WITHOUT BREAKFAST! COULD STAY IN A LOT BETTER HOTELS FOR $500/NIGHT DON'T YOU THINK?
