I booked a room online big enough for 6. I admit it was my fault for not reading the terms, tucked away as usual. When I finished paying the non-refundable amount, the fineprint says only 2 adults guaranteed for that room. Nowhere in the booking process did it even give an option for number of guests. They made no effort to accomodate. I even offered to pay the difference according to what the hotel said was the Priceline rate for the additional guests. Priceline refused. no matter who I spoke with everyone says the same thing, what every customer wants to hear, "It's your own fault." I will never book on Priceline again no matter what the price.
DO NOT USE PRICELINE!!!!!
We were recently shopping around for flights home for Christmas, and checked Priceline.com for rates they were posting. We had run a search for a couple of different dates to see the difference in cost, and the page had mentioned naming your own price. Previously, when I used this option it gave me a new selection page of dates and times I wanted to travel, and then gave me the page to enter in critical data (payment info). This time it jumped right to payment info, so I assumed (oops) that they were using the same criteria on the previous page to find the flight. What a HUGE MISTAKE! It booked me a ticket way outside of the guidelines I had entered, a flight that was impossible for me to actually take. Yet, when I called Priceline within 2 minutes of this, I sat on the phone listening to a robot message tell me useless information for the next 5 minutes, and then finally got an option to speak with a CSR that had no intention of helping at all. Their only statements, the entire conversation, was that "there is nothing we can do. These tickets are non-refundable" with no options for errors or extenuating circumstances of any kind. So to sum up... if you don't care how, when, or if you get there, and you are a perfect human being using a perfect system, then use priceline. If you are human, if you appreciate any customer service at all, and if you would like to have piece of mind that in the event that not everything works the way it gave you the impression it would, STAY AWAY FROM PRICELINE. They are only worried about their bottom line.
I got a rental for $12 a day through Priceline. The next page offered an "upgrade" from a subcompact to a compact for $12 a day. Sure, I though, compact for same price as a subcompact, why not? It turns out that it wasn't the same $12 a day I was paying but was an additional $12 a day. I called up their "customer service" within 2 minutes. There is nothing they can do about it, according to them... according to Travis. Outrageous, and what is worse, they don't care. Priceline, not sure it is worth it. May be the last time I do business with them.
Worst hotel in usa/dirty,smelly,outdated!!!! | Priceline review from El Paso, Texas
I booked A hotel on line and traveled 14hrs.by car onthur.nov,15,2012.Got there around 9 or 9;15.Tired and hungry.Checked in to find it #1,was not the room I booked.Second it stunk, was in the back, dark, and filthy dirty.Due to the time of night and we were exausted we had no choice but to stay.I think the health dept. needs to inspect these"rooms".Not fit to be used!!!!!!.I have never stayed in a worse place in my life.Even in Mexico the rooms were clean.Battlefield Inn in Vicksburg Mississippi is like being in a third world country room,at best.
Priceline Room Booking
WARNING: Priceline hotel page is deceiving. Site inserts random date, I changed in the wrong area on the page and soon received email confirmation of of the reservation with the incorrect date. Yeah I messed up but we humans do. Immediately called and was told basically it is there policy to screw the customer regardless of the circumstances. Be wary, better yet use another company (NOT PRICELINE/TRAVELOCITY) with better site design. Frankly the travel sites are good for search but risky in there policies. Better to book direct and bypass these companies whenever possible. I'll roll the dice sometimes but hotels it seems there is NO benefit only evil policies designed to screw the consumer.
We stayed at Howard Johnson's in Lexington, VA on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in room 310. After hearing many tiny noises coming from the refrigerator in our room, we assumed that it was on its last leg. You can only imagine the horror for me and my family when my...
Nonrefundable? Ridiculous | Priceline review from Seattle, Washington
I wanted to order two passengers' tickets, but I found the date is wrong. I was supposed to departure on December, but the date of their recommendation at the top of the list is on November which I didn't notice. Who can know they will give you a wrong date after you have chosen a specific date already. The worst part is these tickets are nonrefundable!! I called both airline and the website. The airline doesn't have right to change the ticket ordered by a third party. And the priceline gonna charge me more than ticket value for cancellation; about two times more for changing. Nonrefundable? It's a ridiculous rule.
Priceline Flight Booking
Made reservation w 'Best Price Guarantee'. One click later, I found same resort for price I paid but also included free breakfast for 2 on Hotels.com. I emailed customer service @ Priceline and got an automated response assuring a reply within 12 hrs. 4 days later I finally called a live customer service rep and was told that they could do nothing about it. Uh 'Best Price Guarantee ' my ***. Never again Priceline- what you give consumers is exactly that a LINE with no resolve to your supposed guarantee. The 2 customer service reps I spoke to were about as helpful as a splinter in your toe.
Priceline insurance is worthless!
We purchased Priceline insurance for a hotel. An unforeseen event occurred and we were unable to make the trip. Of course, the insurance did not cover it and we were out $100! What a bunch of ***! It was our fault for not reading the fine print but you just would assume that insurance would mean insurance, which it is not, barring a major health event or death! Even illness not requiring a dr visit is not a viable excuse. Do not buy the insurance, it's not worth it, you're out $5 on top of the expense that was not covered.
Resort Fees added to Priceline bids
BEWARE! Resort Fees are not included in cost of your bid. Resort fees in this case were not terrible, but they could be anything. If they are not part of my bid, then they shouldn't be charging me. This was pointed out to priceline and they stuck to their guns and would not refund, or change the reservation in any way. Finally they gave me $10 off a night in future bids (up to 5 nights), but that is not the point. If a hotel has additional fees, they need to be included in the cost of the bid, PERIOD.
